Podiatry

Podiatry is the treatment of feet and their ailments. Our specialist Dr. Taunna Jones, is excited to begin this new program at Total Health Care. Feet are complex, constantly used parts of the body that are instrumental to overall health and well-being. Podiatry services are a specialized area of healthcare and different from pedicures. Specific areas of service include Diabetic Foot Management, Basic Foot Care & Foot Injuries.

Diabetic Foot Management

The effects of diabetes on the feet include nerve damage and blood flow problems which are important for your podiatrist to screen & treat.

Basic Foot Care

Bunions, Ingrown toenails, heel pain, corns & callouses

Foot Injuries

Sports related foot injuries, non-sport related injuries, ankle, and foot pain

About Dr. Jones:

Dr. Taunna Jones is board-certified in Podiatric medicine with over 10 years of clinical patient care experience. She earned her undergraduate degree from Hampton University and she obtained her medical degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine. After receiving her Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Jones completed a surgical residency training at the VA Maryland Healthcare System, where she served as chief resident in her final year.

Dr. Jones is currently an active member of the American College of Podiatric Medicine, American Podiatric Medical Association and the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association. During her career, she has co- authored a publication in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Dr. Jones has also served on the health committee executive board and is a community educator for foot health and wellness. She has been recognized as a recipient of the Gold Pin award for honoring America’s veterans by providing high quality health care.

Dr. Jones is dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in patient care. She has extensive training in podiatric medicine with a particular interest in diabetic limb salvage. As a Podiatric physician, Dr. Jones specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of foot and ankle disorders. She performs a full range of services in children and adults, from the common concerns such as athletes foot, ingrown toenails, heel pain or plantar warts to more complex concerns such as bone and joint disorders, foot care for diabetics and sports injuries.

In her spare time, Dr. Jones is active in the community in various capacities. She is a former ballet dancer, enjoys quality time with her family and has two beautiful daughters.

Division Health Center Closing

Total Health Care’s Division Health Center will be closed at 12 noon. All patients will be contacted to be seen at another site or appointment rescheduled.
