FAQs
Vaccines are super important for teens for a couple of big reasons:
Serious Illness Protection: Teens are at an age where they’re becoming more social and independent. This can expose them to germs that cause diseases like meningitis, HPV, and hepatitis. Vaccines help teens build immunity (protection) against these diseases, which can be very serious and even deadly.
Long-Term Health Benefits: Vaccines don’t just protect teens from getting sick right now. They also provide long-term health benefits. For example, the HPV vaccine can help prevent certain types of cancer later in life.
Here are some resources you can check out to learn more about teen vaccinations:
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): [vaccines for teens cdc ON Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (.gov) cdc.gov]
- HealthyChildren.org: [vaccines for tweens teens and young adults ON HealthyChildren.org]
Walk-ins are welcome. However, vaccinations are subject to availability.
